The video demo below shows the Storyboard to Keyframe Animation process.
This product solves all of our problems. Even with high-end Rokoko mocap, the "hand drift" requires hours of labor and hair-pulling to get the hands to behave correctly, and IK/FK switching to get the feet to stay put.
With this fully rigged set, not only do we have a fully retopped skeleton working with a full anatomically correct muscle set, but we can easily manually animate the exact Swing Build Method with keyframes.
Skeleton and muscles integrated solution. Liz purchased this fully retopped and rigged male/female set of 3D models for $99. It includes all anatomically correct muscles that are already integrated with a skeleton. For individual work and demo purposes only. A commercial license will cost $499 to be purchased by SBS, Ltd.
Before freaking out, please see that this NEW PROPOSED WORKFLOW frees us and speeds up our production process and allow us to more easily and accurately model the Swing Build Method.
Once again, EVEN THE "GOOD" MOCAP FROM GSA HAD "HAND DRIFT" REQUIRING HOURS OF MANIPULATION, USING EMPTIES, HELPER OBJECTS, SHAPE KEYS, AND IK/FK SWITCHING, BUILDING CUSTOM RIGS TO MAKE THE FEET AND HANDS BEHAVE PROPERLY.
THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL JUDGMENT...IT IS A MATTER OF FACTS. MUCH LIKE MOBILE WIFI WAS NEVER MEANT TO CONDUCT VIDEO CONFERENCES. MOCAP IS A LOVELY DREAM, AND SOME DAY THE TECH WILL CATCH UP TO OUR DREAM, BUT AS OF AUGUST OF 2026: IRL: PLANET EARTH: IT'S FASTER AND MORE EFFICIENT AND MORE ACCURATE TO KEYFRAME THE SWING BUILD METHOD.
It's a process...a back-and-forth dialogue between client and artists to figure out how MVP One will flow. Here are some images for the MVP One set of storyboards. We use these images to 1) pose the model and keyframe the movement; 2) figure out the camera views and angles; 3) identify where instructional text and narration will go.
Conveying visual and emotional messaging . . . i.e. what are the color themes and text styles of the product? This is used as a guide to build the User Interface for learners to view the video and interactive 3D models, and work their way through a menu of Learning Sequences.
MSc attempting to carry over SBG Branding
Fresh branding for MVPs "look and feel"
Parsing out the stages of production; understanding the process; identifying responsibilities and workflow.
"Separate documentation" needs to be generated by SBS, Ltd.
A reasonable timeline with benchmarks and milestones can be created once the production pipeline (workflow) has been established and understood between parties.
The sample below shows a traditional, linear way of producing the work. It is based on the pipeline / workflow we learned at Uni.
The GSA assets are disallowed, and that means we can stop effing around with rigging and retopping. It is an unholy amount of work.
With the purchase of a professional, fully rigged and integrated 3D model of muscles and skeleton, we can properly get cracking.
We are free! Do not waste tears on yesterday. Consider it a blessing!

A reminder of what the MVPs are and are not.
MVP One - Body Mechanics of the Golf Swing
MVP Two - Exercises to Build the Golf Swing
MVP Three - The Annotated Paul Hogan
MVP Four - Advanced Tuition (short game, chipping)
These are NOT the ultimate training aid. They are a build-up to it. The assets all translate.
MVP Two and beyond could be a Unity build, but wait until you know the price for a commercial development seat on Unity.
These can be either 1) a passive animation, or 2) lightly interactive (SketchFab + SBG webpage).
A passive animation is what was created for the MSc. The Lightly Interactive offering is achieved by uploading the 3D models to SketchFab, a 3D viewing SaaS (software as a service) tool. Code is then embedded into a web page that becomes the User Interface, allowing the learner to play the animation, scrub the timeline, and most importantly, interact directly with the 3D model (orbit and zoom).
Passive Animation or the Lightly Interactive offering can be deployed on the Swing Build Golf website SHOP tab for purchase in the same way as past DVDs and books have been offered. L&L will provide DMelrose the files and notes needed to do this.
L&L can produce three Learning Sequences pro bono. After that, we have to move on to paid work in order to pay our student loans, mortgage / rent, and dental bills -- oh and eat. We love eating. Everyday. LOL!
This pro bono offering includes deployment files and notes to David Melrose, and a feedback system, most likely a Google Form to gather feedback from users during the beta launch. Remember also that this product cannot be sold until the commercial licence is purchased, which is $499 to Art Station for the Ecorche rig and models. That is why I refer to this initial launch as the beta launch.
